COURAGE FOR CONQUEST.
TEXT: “Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them” (Joshua 1:6).
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Nelson Mandela captures what a Christian’s life should be. Fear is a natural emotional disposition of man, but it can be conquered by courage. A Christian is often referred to as a spiritualGod hath not given us the spirit of fearsoldier who has Heaven’s armoury at his/her disposal.
God expects us to overcome fear because He has given us all things which pertain to life and godliness. The word of God is full of unfailing promises of God which should be sources of courage to every youth. God is faithful to His promises; but the devil normally brings fear into the hearts of believers to make them doubt God. Paul challenged Timothy to be bold, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” There are many open doors for us and areas where God wants us to arise and conquer.
CHALLENGE: God expects us to overcome fear.
PRAYER: Lord, make me courageous to inherit my blessings.
